This Privacy Policy explains how Sprite Sheet Maker collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you visit the website, create an account, generate assets, or purchase a subscription or credit pack.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, verified email address, display name, and profile image. We use this information to create and secure your account.

Content and generation information

We process the images you upload, prompts and instructions you submit, character names and settings, generated images and sprite sheets, and technical metadata associated with generation jobs. This information is required to provide the creation and export features you request.

Billing and credit information

We store your plan, subscription status, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, credit balance, credit history, and purchase status. Stripe processes payment card details. Sprite Sheet Maker does not receive or store your full card number or card security code.

Technical information

Our hosting and security providers may process IP addresses, browser and device information, request timestamps, and diagnostic information to deliver the service, prevent abuse, and investigate failures.

2. How we use information

• Provide authentication, account management, generation, storage, export, billing, and credit features.
• Process purchases, subscription changes, refunds, disputes, and related accounting records.
• Secure the service, enforce usage limits, prevent fraud, and diagnose technical problems.
• Comply with legal obligations and respond to valid legal requests.
• Measure or promote the service only when optional analytics or marketing technology is implemented and the required consent has been obtained.

3. Cookies and local storage

Sprite Sheet Maker currently uses the following browser storage:

• sprite_session: an essential, HTTP-only session cookie used to keep you signed in. A session expires after 14 days unless you sign out earlier.
• sprite-sheet-maker-cookie-consent: a local-storage record containing your analytics and marketing preferences and the date they were saved. It remains on your device until you clear site data.

Google Identity Services is loaded to provide Google sign-in and may process technical information or use Google cookies when you interact with that service. Optional analytics and advertising tags are not currently active. If they are added, they must follow the choices recorded through the Cookie preferences controls.

Google advertising

If Google advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may place and read cookies on your browser or use web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers as a result of serving ads on this site. Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites. You can manage personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings and learn how Google uses information from partner sites. We do not include account email addresses, names, uploaded filenames, prompts, or other directly identifying account data in Google advertising requests.

4. When we share information

We share information only as needed to operate the service:

• Cloudflare: website delivery, security, serverless processing, database storage, and private object storage.
• Google: account authentication when you choose Google sign-in.
• Stripe: payment processing, subscriptions, billing portal access, fraud prevention, refunds, and disputes.
• AI generation providers: generation prompts and source images required to perform the image-generation request you submit.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business reorganisation. We do not sell personal information.

5. Legal bases for processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process account, content, generation, and billing information to perform our contract with you. We process security and limited diagnostic information for our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service. We rely on consent for optional analytics or marketing technologies. We process records when necessary to comply with legal obligations.

6. Data retention

Account content and generated assets are retained while your account remains active or until you delete them. Authentication sessions expire after 14 days. When you delete your account, active sessions and associated application data are deleted from the primary database, and an active Stripe subscription is submitted for cancellation. Stripe and other processors may retain transaction, fraud-prevention, tax, or legal records under their own retention obligations. Limited backup, security, and accounting records may remain for the period required to protect the service or comply with law.

7. Security

We use access controls, hashed session tokens, HTTP-only cookies, private object storage, signed Stripe webhooks, and encrypted network connections. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and rights

• Update or remove characters and assets through the available account controls.
• Delete your account and associated application data through account settings.
• Change optional Cookie preferences when the consent panel is available, or clear this site's stored data in your browser.
• Request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy where applicable law provides those rights.
• Withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

9. International processing

Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate contractual or legal safeguards are used for international transfers.

10. Children

Sprite Sheet Maker is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the website or another appropriate channel.
